One of the plethora of independent bottled bourbons we are seeing on shelves nowadays. This expression comes at 46% ABV. The nose has nice sour and fruity nose, black cherries, vanilla and a little sawdust. The taste is sweet and tangy with citrus peel, dark chocolate, pepper, sweet corn and charred oak. The finish is slightly bitter and a spicy, cayenne pepper kick. I guessed it was a low / no rye content due to lack or herbal / grassy / minty notes I usually find in finish of bourbon and rye and, for once, I was correct.
