The nose has of course the smoky peat but also some honey and malt sweetness as well. The taste is a little on the palate at first, more smoke and then citrus fruit and caramel. Some bitter oak in the finish, freshly polished, which is also a little dry. With water it gets a little sweeter, almost burnt sugar, with some lemon. Also brings up heat and pepper in the finish. It's good but I much prefer the spectacular 15 year old Darkest from Bowmore.
