Compass Box Great King Street

This particular expression of the Great King Street blended scotch from Compass Box is called The Artist's Blend.   I first tried it at the World of Whiskies in Austin in November 2012 and definately liked it, but the pour was rather small and not enough for me to take notes.  I was therefore rather happy to see a 375 ml bottle on sale at Specs in Houston.  (Question.... I thought US only allowed import of 750 ml bottles... so how did a 375 ml bottle get here?)  The nose is malty and sweet, citrus peel, vanilla, cooked fruits and even the faintest hint of smoke.  The taste is smooth, spicy and sweet, honey and gingerbread.  The finish has peppermint and some oak bitterness.  Overall very light but still complex.  A great aperetif whisky.
