This was a nice surprise. I was in Specs and was told that they had received a case of this whiskey but the green wax top on one bottle was broken so the distillery bought back the bottle and suggested the store use that bottle for samples. I was lucky enough to be there. As I have said before... "samples = sales". Also the marketing department seemed to haved missed the meeting when someone decided to call the new premium vintage bourbon... Vintage Bourbon. However, lack of snazzy name aside, this is a very good aged bourbon. The nose has fruit, vanilla and some polished wood. The taste is lovely smooth, rich and mellow, the oak is definately evident again, thick and chewy wood, some sweet rum and cocoa powder notes. Finish has some cinnamon spice. Great complex sipping bourbon that gives up a little more every time you try it.
