Another blended malt from Compass Box. This one has a very fresh and fruity nose, caramel and apples (toffee apple?) and a malty biscuity note. The mouthfeel is rich and smooth and the taste is quite sweet, more toffee, vanilla and spicy pepper and oak notes (presumably the reason for the name) build quickly and last for long time. A little bitter in the long and fairly intense finish. Sweetens a little with water, the apple in the nose gets a little stronger, but the spicy finish remains. This is a great whisky, bold and lives up to the billing.
